The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving women.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
